📝This archived post is originally from my old comics focused Wordpress blog from 2011-2019. That site was a space to publicly commit to learning the art and craft of cartooning and self-publishing. These posts are full of a naive enthusiasm that though at times embarrassing, I'm proud of. I hope you find them useful in some way.❤️

Two weeks ago I hunkered down for 12 days and made a full color 32 page comic book with a group of students at the Center for Cartoon Studies. The idea was to step back into time to the year 1966 and try to produce a Teen Musical Comedy that would outsell the titan of the time, Archie Comics. Thus were born the Nowsills. Nowsills final cover

This issue that tells the adventures of the fictional family rock ‘n roll group, the Nowsills. It came together under the editorial guidance of Steve Bissette and was made in collaboration with fellow Center for Cartoon Studies students Simon ReinhardtEleri Harris, Ben EvansAlexis Dexter and Aaron Shrewsbury.  We each brought our best to the table to crank this puppy out and it’s safe to say that for two weeks, we were a bonafide bullpen.

For your reading pleasure, you can now download the full issue.  For those that just want a quick peek, here’s a selection of what you’ll find inside. Screen shot 2013-02-16 at 7.21.41 PM

I’ll let you know what we come up with.

If you have any ideas regarding cheap color printing options in New England, I’d love to hear ‘em!
